Software Engineer - Travel industry

The Software engineer plays a key role in the steps of analysis, conception, development and tests

As Software Developer, you will be engaged in the full Software Development Life Cycle: Support of business analysts, Technical Design, Development, Testing, Implementation and Production Support. You will work on some innovative IT projects from initial search to making a booking, from pricing to ticketing, from managing reservations to check-in and departure

Part of the Global Team spread over Nice-France, Boston-USA, London-UK, Sydney and other sites,  you will also be the point of contact of operational and customer support teams for problems troubleshooting and change on the system during Sydney hours. 

The main responsibilities of this role will also include:

  •  Analyse user requirements
  •  Design the best technical solution
  •  Develop the software according to the standards of the company
  •  Conduct unit and performance tests
  •  Write operational and software documentation
  •  Regularly report progress and highlights/escalates issues.
  •  Support the other teams involved in the SDLC: Business Analyst, Testers, etc.
  •  Coordinate between several impacted developers, either within the same team, or in remote teams (London, Nice, Boston, etc.)
  •  Monitor and control costs related to own work
  •  Demonstrate initiative in contributing to problem solving, design solutions and team goals
  •  Take responsibility for a component of a project or a small project
  •  Provide tutoring or mentoring to new graduates

Education

  • Engineering school / Master degree in computer science with distinction / honors (from prestigious schools & universities)
  • Honors / distinction are mandatory
    • Fluent in English
    • French is a plus

Technical Skills

  • Object Oriented Design
  • Good knowledge of C++
  • RDBMS/SQL, Oracle preferred
  • Java, Javacsript, Python, Perl or other scripting language
  • JQuery, XML, Ajax, , Web Technology, PHP
  • Knowledge of versioning control
  • Knowledge of Client/Server architecture
  • Familiar with Linux.
