V&V Engineer - Defence

Astek is seeking talented V&V Engineers with extensive experience across the Australian Defence Sector to join a global leader.

The Verification and Validation (V&V) Engineer will be engaged in verifying product designs according to requirements and internal quality standards. The V&V Engineer plans, implements, tests, documents, and maintains enterprise-wide solutions to total systems or subsystems using internally created and/or off the shelf products.This position provides support to systems engineering team to meet project deliverables in the completion of development testing.  Project deliverables may include producing and/or reviewing verification and/or validation plans, protocols, and reports, execution of the plans and protocols, and resolving deviations.

Your responsibilities will include (but aill not be limited to):

  • Responsible for working with system engineers, developers, end users and organisations to create test plans and test scripts.
  • Coordinate with client and other team participants to plan test events. Participate in a team of testing professionals in creating reports, tracks problems and reporting on errors that are identified.
  • Participate in the configuring necessary hardware and operating environments as needed to complete assigned testing.
  • The role will be exposed to a comprehensive array of IT products, operating systems, software, hardware, systems and networks and specialised environments.

You will have skills and experience in:

  • A range of Systems Engineering lifecycle experience (3+ years) in a Defence environment
  • Definition and implementation of V&V plans and procedures
  • Documenting design decisions and undertaking trade studies
  • Experience in defence products integration, test and evaluation, verification and validation
  • Experience with system engineering documentation
  • Defence systems engineering within a technical regulation framework
  • Military equipment operation, design and test

In addition to the above, you will have relevant industry qualifications or certifications in communications and/or electronics.  Defence project experience, excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and a solution-oriented, collaborative personality are key competencies of the role.

Applicants are required to be Australian Citizens and hold at minimum a baseline security clearance. NV1 security clearance preferred.
